Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing heavy duty vehicles, such as diesel trucks, roll off trucks, and trailers. The successful candidate will be required to use a variety of diagnostic equipment, tools, and techniques to perform maintenance and repairs. The ideal Fleet Mechanic will be highly motivated, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working with a diverse range of vehicles and equipment.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fleet of heavy duty trucks and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, transmissions, steering, brakes, and electrical components.
- Inspect and adjust components such as brakes, exhaust systems, and steering systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform routine services such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter changes.
- Utilize diagnostic software to identify mechanical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Provide prompt and accurate estimates of repair time and costs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
Job Requirements
- Good driving record and ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card required
- Valid CDL License a plus
- Experience performing repair work on large trucks including steering and transmissions.
- Ability to work in varying conditions (heat & cold)
- able to lift > 50lbs routinely
- Ability to use gauges, measuring devices or other specialized equipment as needed
- Ability to operator manual transmission
- Minimum 3+ years of vehicle mechanic experience
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to accommodate overtime
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods of time
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
